In Partition Recovery, I could see an Unallocated Partition before C:, between C/D, D/E and after E:.  The first unallocated partition  is from sector 63 to 1985, and C: is 2048 It is one of the best. I agreed to let PM fix it automatically, but it did not solve the problem.

Running pqmagic with /ipe switch, I can see that only the boot partition is damaged, the rest seem fine.

Have you tried booting from the Vista DVD and trying a Startup Repair? My guessing is that, when I moved C:, DD managed to either write to MBR to point to the new C: file table yet fails to write the actual table, or Very recrntly I did a recovery scan and saw all the files listed.
