Norton Partition Magic Init Failed Error 100

My problem relates to readability of the hard drives. So I assume you don't want to completely wipe out what data you currently have on drive F:? Join our site today to ask your question. I think you can only have 4 drives set as "active", drives need to be set to active to run an OS, so two would not able to run an OS.
Then tryed on a smaller HD, 17.2 just the same result. I have reformatted and done a clean install of windows 98. I do have Knoppix Linux and I do have the full XP pro SP2 disk.
- And if yes how should I fix it?
- Only (C: ) and (G: ) have any important data at this time. (C: ) which has the OS and apps.
- Once there is a change in the configuration, the partition tables are all out of whack. (Also, antiviruses love to start changing things in the boot sectors and cause chaos).
- What now?

It takes just 2 minutes to sign up (and it's free!). It is one big NTFS partition. Windows and Partition Magic should pick it up if it is not ******* up. Now when I open 'My computer' I can't see any of the partitions of the external hard drive although I can see hard disk itself in Device manager under 'Disk drives'.

chkdsk can't fix partition table errors.
