All computers run xp pro with file sharing enabled. I have had this same thing happen lots of times with my PC’s though I have never encountered this particular error; however, I believe that it has always been a result rebooted....... THANK YOU !

The weird thing was, we were able to access the network drives most of the times, but randomly, we were not able to access with the error message above. And on my quad 4 computer I still had to wait about 3 minutes for word to start. The most it can be increased to is 50 (Decimal). if anyone has any other suggestions please let me know Alan McMillan Thanks for this fix.
I'm afraid that is all I can do for you. No need to reconfigure anything on my wife's computer (the one that was trying to access the shared drive). On another note, there was something i did with a program last week that mentioned Dword, If I find what it was I will come back to let you and all Not Enough Storage Is Available To Process This Command Server 2012 Added this dword to my XPpro registry with a value of 20 and it worked. Having spent over two hours trying everything, a few minutes of your advice sorted it!!
It does not mention Windows XP, but applies to XP as well.

Although I did not immediately get the "sever storage" error message changing the stack size registry entry solved the problem. I'd been having this problem for months on my home LAN. Thanks! The problem was that while from the desktop I was able to open shared directories on the laptop, I didn't the other way round. Guest I am in the same boat James.
