As noted above, PrestaShop is free and open source software available for download by anyone. This circumstance contributes to the formation of ways to monetize and generate income for the project development team.
To date, there are at least two known ways of receiving funds for the PrestaShop development team:
an extension platform through which users and online store owners can purchase various add-ons for an additional fee that extend the functionality of the e-commerce platform built on top of PrestaShop
partnerships with major players in the e-commerce market. For example, such as PayPal or Google
CMS PrestaShop has support for more than three hundred built-in functions. Among them are the following:
product list management
management of the order processing and delivery system
interaction with manufacturers and suppliers of goods
and many other functions
CMS PrestaShop out of the box has a basic theme in its arsenal, which is based on a responsive design. Thus, the site owner will have no problem supporting mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.
For consumers and owners of sites built on the basis of PrestaShop, it is possible to develop and install their own themes, which allow you to change the appearance of the site depending on the niche and purpose.
It is not a secret for anyone that with the help of additional modules you can expand the basic functionality of CMS PrestaShop.
